Town Board News
The Town Board will meet Monday, February 6th and Monday, February 20th
at
7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall located
at
654 County
Road N, Stoughton, WI 53589. The Plan Commission will meet
on Wednesday, February 8th. Please

meetings.
Election News
The Spring Primary will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012.
Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Trash and Recycling News
The Town signed a five year contract with Johns Disposal Service to
provide our trash and recycling services. The trash pick-up
remains the same, with residents being allowed to place an unlimited
amount of trash curbside in their own containers. Johns provided
toters for recycling items only. Recycling will be picked up
every other week. A collection schedule should have been
delivered with your toter. If you have any questions regarding
when your recycling will be picked up, please go to

Budget News
The Town has prepared its proposed 2012 Budget. As a Board, we
have strived to keep the tax levy as low as possible. As such,
most line items have stayed the same or decreased. However, the
City of Stoughton Fire Department has increased their capital budget,
due to a need to replace breathing equipment and radios. Because
of this increase from the Fire Department, that line item has increased
$30,000.00. In addition, the State of Wisconsin Department of
Natural Resources requires the Town to participate in a Stormwater
Management Program. The Town has applied for a grant to cover a
portion of the engineering work which will need to be performed.
These engineering fees will increase the Town's budget by
