Town of Dunkirk, Wisconsin
Welcome to the Town of
Dunkirk, Wisconsin. The Town of Dunkirk was officially organized on
April 7, 1846, after being settled largely by New England Yankees and
by Norwegian immigrants.
Dunkirk is a rural community just southeast of Madison, Wisconsin. See the Dunkirk map (Use the bars in the upper left of the map to see more detail of Dunkirk or more of the surrounding area). We are home to about 2,000 residents who live widely dispersed throughout the town. There are just a few clusters of higher-density housing near the City of Stoughton, which is located near the northern part of the Town of Dunkirk.
