Town Board Meetings
Schedule
The Town Board regularly meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. Meetings are held at the Dunkirk Town Hall, which is wheelchair accessible. The Town Board welcomes the public to its open meetings.
Notice
Notices of upcoming meetings are published in the Stoughton Courier
Hub
during the week before the meeting. If a meeting is scheduled without
enough time to publish the notice in the newspaper, the notice will be
published at the Dunkirk Town Hall, Conant Automotive at 1324 Hwy. 51
and the Town brush site on Collins Road.

Agendas for each meeting are posted outside the Town Hall at least 24 hours prior to the next Town Board meeting.

Annual Meetings
The Dunkirk Land Use Plan Annual Review
The Land Use Plan Annual Review allows the Plan Commission and any attending Board Members to hear complaints, suggestions, or proposed amendments for the Land Use Plan. The Land Use Plan Annual Review is typically held on the 2nd Wednesday of January, prior to the 1st regular Planning Commission meeting of the year at the Dunkirk Town Hall.
The Dunkirk Annual Town Meeting
The agenda for the Annual Town Meeting includes approval of the Annual Town Meeting minutes and Town Financial Statement for the previous year. The agenda also includes a Review of the previous year as well as reports from other Town offices and groups. The Annual Town Meeting is held yearly on the 2nd Tuesday of April at the Dunkirk Town Hall.
The Town of Dunkirk Open Books
Open Books is an annual opportunity for town residents to review and question their property assessments. Open Books is held hosted by the Town Assessor over the course of a business day typically in May at the Town Hall. Residents questioning their assessment will get a response from the Associated Appraisal Consultants within 24 to 48 hours.
The Town of Dunkirk Board of Review
The Town Board and Town Assessor hold one meeting 15 days after Open Books during which town residents may appeal their tax assessments. During the appeal process, residents and the Town Assessor each present their evidence and the town board makes the final decision.
The Dunkirk Special Town Meeting and Budget Hearing
The Special Town Meeting and Budget Hearing is a time in which the Town Board reviews and approves the Town Budget for the following fiscal year. This meeting is typically held in November at the Dunkirk Town Hall.
